Return to Play Program

Returning to sport after a long rehabilitation following an injury or surgery is often a daunting task for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Traditionally, physical therapy services end well before an athlete is ready to return to the field, and those athletes are left confused as to what the next step is in the rehabilitation process.

Boston Sports Performance Center designed its Return to Play program for athletes to bridge the gap between traditional physical therapy services and a return to competitive sports.

Board-certified clinical specialists in sports physical therapy oversee our Return to Play programs. Our specialists work with each athlete to develop individualized plans based on their specific injury, time from injury, and current progress since injury or surgery. The Return to Play program offers a safe, supervised, step-wise progression back to the demands of each athlete’s sport. It also assists the athlete to be more prepared both physically and mentally to return to competition. Our goal is to facilitate a return at or above the athlete’s previous level of performance, while also decreasing their risk of re-injury.
